Gdansk and neighbourhood

Up to Gdansk, at the top of Poland. From here i can see half Europe down. A beautiful city, with nice people, really nice. Weather not that good, but good enough for visiting lots of things. The center of this city is amazing, with colored houses, and a special river middle-age styled. Friends very nice, available and very generous. WESTERPLATTE where the second world war started... There is Neptune in the center of the Long Market watching everything out.

Poland is always amazing. Im not gonna say anything about the city as it's the second time i've been here, but i just recommend this to you guys.... let's go to Poland...

In the rynek there are a couple of good clubs to dance...unfortunately im alone so just a couple of pints before going back to the hostel.... bytheway .... right here there is plenty of statues and small sculputers everywhere ....

Wrocław

Here we go, from Belgium to Poland, from Bruxelles to Wrocław . Thanks Mr. Ryan for the cheap flights. We are going down, latitudinally speaking and the more we go the more we suffer the hot weather.

The first thing we discover once landed in this country is the cost of the life, absolutely cheap, even for a brasilian girl :) The hostel is waiting for us and when you figure out that in your dormitory there is nobody expect you, a smile is inevitable. Wrocław is the main city of the Lower Silesia region that offers an amazing Town square in Brick Gothic style. The St. Elisabeth's Church dominates the town hall which with his fountains offers a cooling way of refrigerating.

A beer of course while walking, here we are not in Dublin, hence we can drink whatever we want wherever we want. A culinary lunch in a self-service and again legs on shoulders towards the old university and the river.

Luca, I want to go to Prague. Gaby, It's far and in 2 days we have the flight to Germany. Gaby, It's also expensive. Luuu, I don't care!

Tarnow

Tarnow..il ritorno. In centro da solo per le stradine ciottolate, passando dai vari negozi chiusi e le varie pasticcerie a gustare i soliti dolci al formaggio...mmm...Consueta foto ricordo davanti alla solita porta della citta', "Brama Seklerska" e capatina alla main square piena di pubs.

Giornata di transizione, camminando di giorno sotto il sole e di notte al fresco. Domani mi attende una bella giornata all'aeroporto, affidandomi totalmente al mio portatile per combattere la noia.

La profondita' di Wieliczka

Senza accorgermene e ho gia' fatto almeno 20 piani di scale verso il basso. Guardo su e non vedo la fine. Finalmente arriviamo alla prima stanza della famosa miniera di sale di Wieliczka, situata nella città di Wieliczka, nell'Area metropolitana di Cracovia. Essa è in servizio dal XIII secolo, ed è tuttora utilizzata per l'estrazione del sale. La miniera raggiunge profondità di 327 metri, e presenta gallerie e cunicoli per un'estensione totale di più di 300 km.

La miniera ha 3,5 km disponibili per le visite turistiche ma questa distanza rappresenta circa l'1% della lunghezza totale delle gallerie, che includono statue di figure storiche e mitiche, tutte scolpite dal minatori direttamente nel sale. La miniera presenta anche stanze decorate, cappelle e laghi sotterranei, e mostra la storia della miniera. Siamo nella cattedrale di sale sotterranea della Polonia, un luogo incantato e scendendo mi tocca mettere la felpa.

Arriviamo alla spaziosa Cappella di Santa Kinga, dove vengono celebrate le messe durante le feste e dove si possono ammirare sculture e disegni scolpiti nella roccia salina come l'ultima cena di Leonardo da Vinci. Perdendoci ad osservare le meraviglie che questo luogo protetto dall'Unesco offre, noi perdiamo anche la guida e siamo costretti ad accodarci ad un altro gruppo prima di riemergere alla luce del sole.
