Wicklow Mountains

Back from the Wicklow. Such a nice mountains and such a nice weather. It was a sunny day. Yes, strange up here. Through the Wicklow toward(s) Glendalough, with the celtic crosses. A picture on the first lake and the afternoon knocked on our door. Stop in the Wicklow city and back up to Dublin, through the coast, stopping at the Bray beaches. A bowling session at night, just to keep in touch with the heavy balls ... number 10/12 off course :) Let's the pictures speak... i said too much... :)

I've got sick, i.e., the spring is coming

I've got sick. I'm like a seagull. Something has been changing... I saw seagulls landing on the Trinity Rugby's court, on the grass. This has just one meaning. Firstly, grass experts at Trinity College, cut the grass on the rugby's court when there is grass to cut. The grass to cut comes out when rugby championships finish up and rugby players don't destroy the court.

These expert make use of a special mower that cuts the grass so thin that they don't need to pick up the cutted-grass from the court. They use this technique to fertilize the grass itself. Unfortunately, in our world, seagulls exist, so they basically have a good meal to consume. This has just one meaning: they move from the seaside to town because the wheather allows them to do it. Basically, the end of the story is that the spring is coming, hence, as Im like a seagull, I've got sick and seagulls moved in town to eat. We react in different ways to SPRING... they eat and I take out my scarf and jacket...

Once i Met him

Finally, I met him. It was small, almost transparent, without taste and color. It was very very small, and it was difficult to met him. It was in a long glass, in the middle, between the alcohol and the salt water. It was difficult to discriminate it among these liquids. But at the end i met him.

It didn't say a word, it didn't smile, but i knew it has been carrying information for more than 27 years. It was shy, but i know it's my mirror. I met him for the first time in my life, it was an exciting experience and several questions came out from my mouth. Finnaly I met him: my DNA.

Celtic/Brasilian easter at Music Hall

From Italy with energy, they brought the sun: Maurizio e Marcello, named respectively Bric and SuperZeeerooo. They are ready for the Brasilian party at Music Hall, everybody is ready, I'm ready. There is plenty of Cacacha, straight from Portugal.

We start with risotto, with a couple of glasses of wine and Gorgonzola. Espanhola to start enjoying the party. This is a very tasty brasilian-made dring, with wine, red wine, pineapple, sugar and condensed milk...for papules...

It was supposed to have a second dish, but we prefer drinking caipirinha with pineapples, strawberries, limes, kiwis... Maybe we can cook chips and bacon. What do you think? No Luca, let's go to Temple Bar, just to have a walk and take some pictures..

There is a Brasilian flag in the kitchen, on the wall...Italian one is coming as well, straight from the Belpaese. Can I have a glass of original caipirinha please??

Back from Portugal

Nice solitary trip, a relaxed trip based on Sangria, Conference, Computer Science, sun and tasty food. Back from Portugal, for the second time. Back to Music Hall. Unfortunately I lost my conference's poster at the airport: it was Cacacha and wine's fault. Yes it was. Fortunately now I have cacacha to remember Portugal...

Lisboa - 2nd part

Back to the Rossio Square. This sangria is very powerful: maybe 'cause it's one jar alone? Anyway, the dish was delicious, I couldn't wait for it. Finally, I did it: eating in the middle of the square, with 27 degrees on my head, on a table plenty of food looking forward to get back to Dublin in my beautiful room....

Let's take a bus to Belem Luca. Is it ok with you? Let's go Luca, before the sunset...Here we go: landed to the Monument to the Discoverers, walking towards the Belem Tower. Someone said: eat pasteul de Belem...

Over here there is a beautiful panorama, not a lot of people, quite place towards the sunset...tomorrow WEBIST conference...

Coimbra - Portugal

Im going down, toward Lisboa. Im in Coimbra, a nice traditional city. One of the best university of portugal over here. Nice weather as well. One coke in the city center, under a big umbrella: My skin is not used to this sun.

A green picture in a green garden with a green shirt. Walking down toward the market, the cheese market. Traditional lovely things. A cool lunch with bread, chees, amazing cheese. For a couple of euro a simple but culinary meal. In the life sometime simple things produce more effect than complicated things.

Coimbra, several colors displayed on an ancient city, reflected over the river Mondego. Up, hum, maybe down again to Visconde da Luz Street in the Baixa of Coimbra. I saw a pastel de nata.... the trip goes ahead....

Porto - Portugal

Landed to Porto, landed by train. Up and down through streets, lanes, roads. There are several levels, different kind of floors but all end up to the Ribeira houses to the Douro river. The biggest city of the norther region is quite traditionalist and offer different point of view. The city is growing up with the Europe but prices are pretty moderate.

I'm buying a postcard to send to my marine uncle and crossing the D. Luís Iron Bridge where I can see the Ribeira houses as a whole, mirroring on the river. I have been sitting down for half an hour, to empty my mind, get pleasure from the sunny weather and think how many pastry im gonna buy...

Up again to the bridge and to the historic city, up to the Avenida dos Aliados. Ice cream off course, with this temperature it's impossible to not buying anything cold. I saw a bottle of "cacacha 51.." What should i do?

Lisboa in solitary

Here I am.... Lisbon...25 degrees to start the adventure in solitary. Portugal, such a nice country. Officially I am here for job, to present my work, my studies, but my heart of traveller does not permit to stand in a single place... hence it means im heading off to Coimbra and Porto.

Second time in Lisboa, second time to Sao George Castle and the old town. I started the day with a pasteu de nata, a great cream pastry, just 80 cents.... amazing...I couldn't wait and a jar of sangria was waiting for me in the center, on a simple table with an hamburger.... im not gonna eat hamburgers here... no worries...

...Well open up your mind and see like me...Open up your plans and damn you're free..

San Patrick Day

As every year, here you are, here Paddy's Day. Lá ’le Pádraig, i.e. St. Patrick's Day in Irish. Saint Patrick (circa AD 385–461) is one of the patron saints of Ireland, and is generally celebrated on 17 March. 17 March, such a funny day. This is my second St. Paddy's day in the land of Celtic. People everywhere drunk, funny people, guys, girls, kids, grand-parents... all together to see the show, the parade that started from the Spire towards Dame street. Funny day, unfortunately I've an exam tomorrow and I couldn't drink so much. It was funny anyway. It doesn't matter... I'm heading off to Portugal... to learn portuguese.. :)
